Payment plans and booking gates
What you'll do
You will set how much of the course fee must be paid before each drive. There is no setting named balance lock.
Build the school payment plan
In Admin Tools → Payments, use the payment plan builder. Set At enrollment (%), Per drive (%), and Final / completion (%). Those percentages are cumulative. If the family has not paid enough for the next drive index, Schedule Drive shows Payment required.
Adjust one student if needed
On the student Payments tab, Update Payment Information (dialog title Update Payment Plan) changes that student's plan. Charge Fine adds a fine. Unpaid fines also block scheduling until they are marked paid or collected.
Set the cancellation fine amount
The late-cancel window is 24 hours before the drive starts. The dollar amount is Drive cancellation fine on billing pricing. Students see that policy when they cancel.
Watch the payment summary
The same Payments tab shows Course amount, Already paid, Remaining, and Total fines, plus Payment history. That is the ledger families and staff should agree on.
Tip
Tell families at enrollment how much is due before the first drive, using the same percentages you entered in the builder.
