AI attention monitoring in class

5 minUpdated August 2026For school owners, instructors, students

What you'll do

You will turn monitoring on, see what counts as a warning, and understand how seat time pauses and resumes.

  1. Turn it on in class settings

Camera check in, attention monitoring, phone detection, and pause-on-leave are each a switch. Schools that want a lighter touch can relax them.

  2. What triggers a warning

Looking away, leaving the class tab, or a phone visible on camera. The student sees the warning on their screen. Instructors see it on the tile and in the feed.

  3. Seat time follows attention

Time only counts while the student is present and watching. When they return, counting resumes from the same place in the lesson.

Tip

Tell families at enrollment that hours are verified. It stops most of the 'just leave the tab open' attempts on day one.
